I am a HUGE music fan, as you all know. I was thinking about songs that annoy the shit out of me, songs that are the WORST of all time. Here are a few that I despise:

"It's Raining Men" The Weather Girls (SUGAR v's Favorite)
"Cotton Eye Joe" (No Idea Who Sings This)

The YMCA always pisses me off. Anything from those boy band punks too, NSYNC, The Backstreet Boys, or 98 Degrees.
"Candy Shop" that song just annoys me. Not to mention my friend pointed out this weekend that it is the same song as "Magic Stick" with different words.
I will also second the vote for YMCA from Katie, that song is lame!
great. now that spice girls song is stuck in my head. ack!! okay here are mine:
1. anything that is normally played at a wedding a.k.a. we are family or celebration etc.
2. I Knew I Loved You Before I Met You / savage garden
3. friends in low places [or whatever the real title of the song is] / garth brooks
4. anything, and i mean ANYTHING by celine dion
5. You were Meant For Me / Jewel
this is totally a side note, but i was just thinking about how much journey rules, and never gets annoying. woo hoo Steve Perry rules!!
What about Steve perry's solo work and "Oh Sherrie?"
i dont know, for some reason i just never get tired of any journey song. it's one of my [few] faults. :)
steve perry's solo work definitely do not qualify as journey.
It's not a fault, Journey kicked ass! So many great tunes that bring back memories. They had a great sound.
I think the only Journey song I did not like was "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'"
oooh! i thought that you were disagreeing with me. got it. yes journey rocks. my friends and i always clear out bars by playing their songs on the juke boxes.
I am the same with Springsteen songs....I've cleared out many a bar loading a jukebox with a $20 and letting "The Boss" sing away!

Don't Stop Believin'
Send Her My Love always gets me choked up....great lyrics.
I hate "Uptown Girl" by Billy Joel. I love his other stuff, just HATE that song for some reason!

Oh, I'm SO offended - I think "It's Raining Men" is one of the greatest songs ever written! :)
Actually I totally agree with anything Springsteen and Journey. I actually got arrested at a Springsteen concert in L.A. for using the men's restroom. The cop actually pulled me off the toilet! And I was quite the little Journey groupie in the '80's (I'm obviously WAY older than you guys). I'm small so I was always the chick in the bikini get tossed up in the air in the middle of a "blanket trampoline" every time they played the Rose Bowl.
I echo the Journey love... other than the fact that there is literally no area of the city that can be considered "South Detroit"... that would be Canada.
Bad songs:
- Four Non Blondes/ What's Going On (esp the techno version)
- The Chicken Dance
- Tootsie Roll
I love "It's Raining Men" I guess I can't see a guy dancing like he wants "it" to that song. But it does something for me when I'm on a dance floor and that song comes on.
