Ok, "Bored at the Beach" readers it's time to sound off on what you think the most overplayed song of ALL-TIME is. Here are a few to get us started:
1) "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" by Meatloaf
2) "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang
3) "We Are Family" by Sister Sledge
4) "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor
5) "Stayin' Alive" by The Bee Gees
6) "My heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion
7) "Everything I Do, I Do It For You" by Bryan Adams
Ok, let's hear yours!

Satisfaction-The Rolling Bones(still luv em)
We are The Champions-Queen(will always luv em)
Money-Pink Floyd(used to luv em more than now)
That's all I can think of for now
Wind Beneath My Wings - Bette Midler
I Will Always Love You - Whitney Houston
Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen (love 'em to death, though)
And, of course, The Star Spangled Banner. It has to be the WORST national anthem of all. (yes, yes, I love my country...I just hate that damned song.)
I am going to go with "Respect" and "YMCA"
Everything on the American Idol approved audition song list. You know those "classics" have been being done to death!
The number one position of my Stop Playing This Song NOW list is currently held by Hoobastank's "The Reason." Just hearing the opening line (a quite whiny "I'm not a perfect person...") is enough to make me cringe.
I'll go along with "YMCA."
I often wonder if the people singing along at sporting events actually know who the Village People are.
The F'in "Electric Slide"
I have to say Picture....Kid Rock and Cheryl Crow....I love them both but if I hear that song one more time I will barf!!!!!!!!
C-Mac, don't forget The Conga, Hot Hot Hot, and Mony Mony! :)
panthergirl said it first but I would have to say.....
I Will Always Love You~Whitney Houston
Margaritaville by Jimmy Buffett. It gets no airplay on my usual Classic Rock/Alternative station, but anywhere near an ocean, you might as well stop using the radio and switching to the CD player in the car, especially during summer.
MOST, if not ALL of the songs that will be played at my retro party in two weeks would no doubt appear on this list.
Hu Flung Pu: LOVE the slide, baby!
How about, "It's Raining Men"? (Love it, though!) I was in this unbelievably rowdy bar in Cozumel (Carlos & Charlie's) a couple years ago. My friend and I requested that song. The bar has a dance floor that is in tiers, so you're dancing on raised platforms. My friend and I were dancing, singing along..."It's raining men, hallelujah..." The guy next to me leans over and in his best drag-queen-sounding voice says, "It's already happening, honey. Don't you see all these goregous men all around you?" That's when I noticed that my friend and I were the ONLY females dancing. It was the highlight of our entire vacation! Dancing with the gay guys! YEAH, BABY! We're so cool!
Hotel California...the friggn acustic version.
You did say OF ALL TIME... I would have to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY. I mean, don't you think after all this time we could come up with another happy little ditty to celebrate that happy occaision? Or are we too dumb to remember the words?
Or HERE COMES THE BRIDE! (I didn't have that played at ANY of my weddings!)lol
*giggle* at disgruntled!
You WILL survive!!
Usually anything really ballady is good at first and then its moment is gone, gone, gone.
The high notes and the whine of it all.........
Ugh!
"Do a little dance.... make a little love... get down tonight!"
Need I say more?
