To all of our Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi friends, you are all in our thoughts. Let's hope this thing slows down.
Let's All Hope For The Best.....
For the rest of us who want to donate to the relief efforts in the devastated areas call 1-800-HELP-NOW which is the Red Cross hotline. Or go to their website.
We are all quick to help out the rest of the world, now let's band together to help our own people.

Well said.
Great idea Charlie.
This will be one of the biggest hurricanes to ever hit the US.
Wishing those people well.
Waiting for a great book
As the fall season approaches, the book world is still searching for this year's great American novel.

Great post, Charlie. Thanks for providing the number to donate towards relief efforts.
very nicely said.
Thanks Charlie -- my thoughts and prayers are with the people in the path of this storm...
I couldn't have said it better. Thoughts, prayers, wishes, hopes...
Looks like the eye may miss New Orleans...but pummell Mississippi. I can't even imagine what those poor people are going through right now...my thoughts and prayers are with them today.
Yes very nicely said!
I don't think the Gulf can stand another pounding.
Thanks Charlie for the info.
Happy Monday, by the way!
I have relatives in both Alabama and Mississippi, I hope everyone is ok, sounds like a bad storm. I don't know how anyone can live down there, seems Florida and the other southern coast states keep getting hit and hit and hit over again. I hope the storm isn't as bad as they think, and my hopes and prayers go out to everyone in its path.
The fury of Mother Nature is a force to be reckoned with. Very scary for all those people. I hope they get the animals to safety as well.
so thoughtful... a really great idea.
Thoughts and Prayers are with all of the people in the gulf...
Why that's a great idea. I made it through Opal in 1995, and a couple of typhoons in Guam, and believe me, IT'S NOT PRETTY!
I feel realy bad for them. The worst part is yet to come. Here's my shameless plug on what I went through. It wasn't pretty, and it tested every relationship I had.
Donating towards relief efforts is a great idea Charlie! We are getting Tropical Storm Rain and Winds here in TN today, but nothing like what happened further south!
I heard that even the colleges are going to have to take hte semester off because off the hurricane and their schools are flooded.
Great post C-mac!!!
Dear C-Mac,
I came across your blog through my sister. (Hi, Luisa!)
I think like you: we should help others but never forget we have problems in our own backyards that could use some help, too.
(And when I write 'help' it doesn't necessary mean money, OK?)
I live in Portugal (South of Europe) and this year it hardly rain.
We had great forest fires and many lost everything.
Wanna trade some worm whether for a little rain?!
We sure could use it.
Hope everything turns alright for everyone.
Read you soon.
