Movie Songs

Since I had such a good response from all of you yesterday about my "Movie Theater Annoyances" blog, I figured I'd stay with a movie theme. All that movie talk got me thinking of all the great songs that have come out of movies or songs we associate with movies. We all have favorite movie songs. Here is a list of mine, in no particular order:

What A Feelin'!!! Posted by Picasa

Irene Cara "Flashdance, What a Feelin'" From Flashdance
Eminem "Lose Yourself" from 8 Mile
Tina Turner- "We Don't Need Another Hero" from Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome
Christopher Cross- "Arthur's Theme" from Arthur
Bobby Brown- "On Our Own" from Ghostbusters 2
John Parr- "Man in Motion" from St. Elmo's Fire
Phil Collins- "Against All Odds" from Against All Odds
Coolio- "Gangsta's Paradise" from Dangerous Minds
Simon and Garfunkel- "Mrs. Robinson" from The Graduate
Johnny Lee- "Lookin' for Love" from Urban Cowboy
Michael McDonald- "Sweet Freedom" from Running Scared
Lionel Ritchie- "Say You, Say Me" from White Nights
Madonna- "Live to Tell" from At Close Range
Bee Gees- "You Should Be Dancin'" from Saturday Night Fever

Ok, enough of mine, let's hear your favorite movie tunes!!!

Well, I'd have to give a vote to "Don't You (Forget About Me)" as well, because of the band.

Also, from Pretty in Pink I'd have to go with Suzanne Vega's "Left of Center". Not the theme song, but my fave on the soundtrack...

In terms of ones that have lodged in my head recently, it's gotta be Madagascar's "I Like to Move It (Move It)." I know it wasn't written for the film, but...

I LOVE that Eminem song from 8 Mile. Definitely the Breakfast Club song by Simple Minds, and anything from Fast Times :op

Definitely "In your Eyes" -- Best. Movie. Ever.
"Try a Little Tenderness" -- Pretty in Pink. Duckie's performance of that is classic.
"Let's Get it On" -- High Fidelity. Jack Black does a great rendition of that song.
"Time of My Life" -- Dirty Dancing. I still love when Patrick Swayze does the cute "...And I owe it all to you"
"It Must Have Been Love" -- Great song.
And C-Mac, I totally agree with "What a Feeling" -- I used to dance and sing to that song all the time when I was little.

'Have a Little Faith in Me' - Jewel, from Phenomenon,. (Actually, I love that entire soundtrack.)

The soundtrack to Lost Boys

'Sweet Transvestite' and 'Time Warp' from The Rocky Horror Picture Show

'You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch' from How the Grinch Stole Christmas

And I'll second Justice's anything from The Big Chill.

Even though it's not this movie specific, I thought Van Morrison's "Someone Like You" was the perfect addition to Bridget Jones' Diary.
