Hockey Is Back for C-Mac

Good Morning! Yesterday, I went to my first hockey game since the NHL lockout ended. It was my first game since the Stanley Cup Playoffs back in April of 2004. I missed it very much and it is good to see hockey back in full swing. Although my team, The NY Islanders, got their asses kicked 6-2 by the Ottawa Senators, it was still great to be back at the Nassau Coliseum, a place where so many great games have been played.

The fans were optimistic during the opening face-off. Ottawa soon made us realize it was going to be a LONG day!

Friday Video/Post Thanksgiving Wrap-Up

Good Morning! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I also hope you are not too hungover from food and drink. Hit the treadmill today if you are! I am off to the NY Islanders/Ottawa Senators game at 2PM. My first hockey game since the strike/lockout ended. As usual, here is my Friday Video of the Week. I chose an "oldie" today, I feel old calling an 80's song an "oldie" but I suppose it's kind of true. This song is called "One More Try" by George Michael. It's off the "Faith" album released in 1987. The first SIX singles released off of Faith went to #1 including this one. I've always loved the lyrics and the message behind the song. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the music and lyrics!

Have A Great Weekend!!!!!!!!!! I will have some great updates for you about the interview and other stuff on Monday!

A Time For Thanks.......

Good Morning! For most of us, the final day of our work week. I want to take a moment out to wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving. Perhaps when you have a moment alone today, you will reflect on all you are thankful for. That's the theme of today's post, things I am thankful for.

All the Best Posted by Picasa

Just like the Charlie in this picture, this Charlie has fallen on his back many times in life, but I always seem to get back up. I have quite a bit to be thankful for:

* Although quite insane and dysfunctional, I have a family that really loves me.
* Great friends who have been there for me through good and bad.
* Good Health (knock on wood).
* The abilty to laugh, even during tough times.
* The ability to learn from my mistakes.
* Finding Bruce this year, the best dog ever.
* The great memories I have of my grandparents.
* A fully stocked bar at home.
* All the great relationships I've had over the years.
* Not having a small penis (you knew I had to throw something funny in here).
* Being as mentally strong as I ever thought I was (this year tested me many times).
* The consistent readers of this nonsense known as my blog.
* The words and music of Bruce Springsteen (where would I be w/o that?)
* A team other than the Red Sox winning the World Series this year
* The return of HOCKEY!!
* The long, hot summer of 2005
* All the laughs with L-HA
* My daytime chats with Hilda
* The fact that I am done with this list

Have a great Wednesday and a wonderful Thanksgiving! I'll be back Friday with the video of the week. Enjoy!

Blogging About Blogs

Blogs. We obviously all enjoy them, but I think we enjoy them for different reasons. 550 posts and 101,000 hits later, I am still blogging. I've never really had a "blog drought" nor have I seriously considered shutting this place down. In the past month or two, I've seen quite a few blogs that I have followed since my early blogging days say bye bye and sign off for good.

In some cases, people stopped blogging because of nasty comments, some for personal reasons, others have been real busy and could not keep up with the writing, etc. I wonder what the average shelf life of a blog is. I have kept up with mine very consistently. Before my blogging days I wrote often, but it was more in the way of song lyrics and that style of writing. I basically only wrote when I was really feeling passionate about something. With this, I can write daily even about the most trivial of subjects.

Having people stop by to read my words each day is definitely a motivator to keep writing. My comments have dropped off quite a bit from its peak back in June. It is definitely because I really don't have the time to comment on everyone's blog daily and I think many people think I forgot about them. I read most of my links at least twice a week but I don't always have time to comment consistently anymore. As you all know, it's tough to read and comment on 30-40 blogs daily. But, you all do a great job with your writings and I enjoy them very much.

The blogs I have linked and have come across are all so different. Some of you chronicle your daily travels and experiences, some of you tell old stories from the past, some are funny in nature, and some are heart wrenching tales. Some have a blend of everything.

So True, huh? Posted by Picasa

It's funny sometimes that I can post about a topic and it can be interpreted a half dozen ways by my readers. I get emails often chiming in on what I write and many times the emails responding to the same story are so different. Some interpret a story as me being sad or down, some take it as me taking a stand on something, some see it as me just being reflective or philosophical, etc. I seldom mention names on here, so when I write a story about "someone" in my life in a particular story, I get calls and mails from people who think it is about them. It's actually kind of interesting. I suppose I like a bit of mystery on here. I don't like to always have everyone know what I am thinking or what my intentions are with a story. It's like when you hear a song, the lyrics to a song, we all get the basic concept of the song, but we all have our opinions as to what the writer was thinking or going through when he/she wrote it and who it is about. I like keeping it that way. Even those of you who read my blog whom I have known long before my blogging days, you have a basic idea who or what I may be referring to on here, but many times even you are wrong. Some of you who I have not seen in a while kind of "follow" how I am doing by stopping by and reading. I am not sure how much you pick up from here, I try to be really subtle about what's going on in my life. Not because I don't like to share or that I am afraid to open up, I just don't think this is a forum, for me anyway, to put it all out there. I'll always drop little hints, sometimes I will just come right out and say it, but for the most part, I like people to think a bit.

I was reading my first month of blogs over the weekend just to see how my writing has evolved since then, and it sure has evolved. I've gone through different phases of writing, and what goes on in my life at a particular time plays a hand in how I write or what I write about without talking to much about what is influencing that writing. When you get a chance, track your first month or two of posts, then look at your last month, you'll be sure to see a difference. For those of you who don't have a blog, I highly recommend starting one. It's interesting to look back on a period of time and see where you were mentally and what you were going through to make you write a certain something.

Start of a Short Week.....

Monday morning, and a cool one here in NY. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was pretty good. It's a short week for most, I hope everyone has a relaxing three days before Thanksgiving.

Is it me, or does so much happen in the course of a year? I was thinking about this over the weekend, where I was a year ago compared to where I am now. You know what I mean, like what was happening in my life, the people I was hanging with, etc. It also makes me wonder where I'll be a year from now........feeling very reflective, perhaps it's the whole holiday season approaching.

I have a HUGE interview tomorrow with a major record label in NYC. It's the job I have always dreamed of, in the music industry. It's an industry I have wanted to be a part of since I was a kid. As most of you know, I have a deep passion for music and this would just be the ultimate for me. The interview is at 3:00PM tomorrow, wish me luck everyone, this means so much to me! This will be a life changing event if I land this job, I am really hoping this pans out. I know I don't always "open up" on here about my personal life and stuff, but I can't even explain how much this will affect my life overall if I get this job. Tough to express really, but those of you with a passion for something know what I mean, and know all too well about life changing opportunities and events. I feel like I have always had "jobs" that have paid the bills, taught me new concepts and ideas, made me meet some amazing people, etc.....but this would be different, this would be a career....much different than a job, something I will get up daily and want to be a part of and something I will put all of myself into.

I am not really big into celebrities or following their lives but there are a few female celebrities I have the "hots" for. Cristina Aguilera just happens to be one of them. I am not that big into her music, although I have enjoyed a few of her songs and I think she has a kick ass voice. It's her I enjoy looking at, and I was very very sad to hear that she got married this weekend.

Please get a divorce ASAP! Posted by Picasa

I'm sure it will end soon enough, her marriage, and she'll come back to C-Mac for that good lovin' sometime soon......haha. I guess The Sugar V wasn't the only one getting married this past Saturday. I'll kick his ass if it was her that he actually married......nah...we know about his "preference" already.

Switching gears a bit, I ran in the annual "Turkey Trot" here in Long Beach on Sunday. The 7th and final race of the 2005 recreation schedule here in Long Beach. It was cold and there weren't that many runners participating, unlike all the summer races. The "Turkey Trot" is a 4 mile race down the boardwalk, through town and then back up on the boardwalk. I did relatively well considering I am not in "July form." All those meals and desserts my mom made during the month of October while she stayed at my house played a factor yesterday. It's all good though, I am going to enjoy all the great food that the holidays have to offer then get real serious and dedicated come January. As Mr. Pu says, no diet, I will be "in training."

And finally, to wrap up my long winded Monday blog, how do you all feel about momentum? Momentum in the relationship sense.... like if you are seeing someone for a while and the relationship builds momentum and keeps progressing over time. Do you think it is possible to see someone for a while, then not see that person for a while, then have the same momentum, or spark that it once had if you cross paths again? Or are you one that thinks that you have to catch lightning in a bottle and strike while the iron is hot and if you don't that momentum and feeling fades? I know "timing" is everything and that the second time you cross paths may be a better time for both, but do you think it has the same feel and momentum it had the first time? Do you think once you let it slip the first time it can be the same or better the second time around? I have my opinion about it, but I was hoping to see some different perspectives. :)

Thanks to all of you who check in daily here. I know everyone has their own things going on, but it means a lot that you take the time to stop by each day. Have a great start to your week!

Friday Video and A Couple of Tidbits

Friday is here! That means a video here at "the beach." I chose a rap song today. This song, for some reason, has been one of my favorites over the last two months. I am not sure if it's the lyrics, the beat, the music, but whatever it is, I find myself in the car turning this one all the way up. I also find myself running a bit faster on the treadmill to this one too. I could sure use it on Sunday when I will be running in the "Turkey Trot" here in Long Beach. It's the annual 4 mile Thanksgiving race....wish me luck! Hopefully it won't be too cold.....

Now for the "tidbits."

Do we really need a sticker on every individual piece of fruit? Hmmmmm....let's see, we can't get our borders secure, but we're still going through the plums by hand? These stickers aren't very appetizing either. Even after the sticker is peeled off and washed, you can still see the outline of where it was...just not very appealing.

There's a new "trend" going on in America, for real, writing your own obituary. Talk about full of yourself, huh? I guess it's the nice way to say "I may be dead, but I am still monopolizing the conversation." I say, face it you are dead, the worms are eating you and you are rotting, let someone else talk!!!!

Have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hollywood Endings

So, Rocky 6 is coming to theaters next year. I am sure we will all go see it because we saw the first five, but isn't enough...enough? After a HORRIBLE Rocky 5 back in like 1990, do we need a Rocky 6 in 2006?

Just Die Already....... Posted by Picasa

Perhaps Rocky should die in Rocky 6. A happy ending is nice, but let's leave the happy endings for Asian massage parlors. I don't want to see a Rocky 7 in 2017 as he beats off his opponent with a cane. He's inspired us many times and he's overcome more than the average Joe. We get it, now just make him die in a fiery crash on the way to the fight.

All too often Hollywood depicts a happy ending. How often is life like that? For example, we all don't win at everything we do and we all don't end up with the person we really love. We lose many more battles in life than we win for the most part. In a way, I suppose hollywood is doing us some justice. For two hours or so, we can get away from our battles and watch someone else's battles on a wide screen and walk away feeling somewhat inspired. That's the beauty of a movie, a song, or any other art, it's an escape from all of our heavyweight fights known as our lives.

Have a great Thursday!

Wedding Bells Are Ringing

This Saturday, a very good friend of mine is getting married. The Sugar V, as he is known here in blogland will be flying to the windy city to tie the knot. Be sure to stop by his blog and wish him well. Since he is always busting my chops here at "Bored at the Beach" and I haven't gotten back at him in ages, I figured I would give you all a little Sugar V wedding preview.

Go Get 'Em Tiger!!!!!! Posted by Picasa

Let's hope Sugar V and his "wife" have great weather and a great time on Saturday. This week I did some investigative work to find out all about this "secret" ceremony that is taking place so far away from his home here in NY. We all wondered why Chicago was selected. I found out it was to keep all of us out of the loop as to what was really going on. Through my sources, I got lots of information about this wedding.

The Bakery where he is getting his cake "The Rainbow Bakery" sent me a sneak preview picture of his cake:

Later that day, I tracked down the caterer and was told that it would be a sausage buffet for all. Here is a look at the fine cuisine:

Leave room for the big bratwurst later on!!!!!! Posted by Picasa

There will be NO open bar, only one kind of drink will be served, Sugar V's drink of choice......

Another round of Cosmos!!!! Posted by Picasa

The best man was a big mystery that was very difficult to figure out. Rumors circulated that it could be Elton John, George Michael, or Richard Simmons. The great investigative reporting here at "the beach" found out the best man is the one and only:

No reception is complete without a band. My sources tell me that The Village People were originally scheduled to perform at the Sugar V wedding but had a last minute gig in San Francisco that they had to perform in. So Sugar went to his backup plan:

Finally, the Paparazzi could only come up with this photo of Sugar and his "bride" to be, taken at a Brooklyn park on Sunday, let's wish these two the best!

May They Live Happily Ever After! Posted by Picasa

Hahahahahaha, on a serious note, Sugar V, we all wish the best for you on Saturday and for years to come. We wish you nothing but the best! You're a great friend, a great human being, and anyone who has gotten to know you is a better person for it. Best wishes to you!

Not A Whole Lot

C-Mac does not have a whole lot to say this early Tuesday Morning. Perhaps I will update later on. Just a quick birthday shout out to the Absterrrrrrrr.....I don't forget you.

It's been an interesting last 48 hours or so. I'll elaborate another time. Have a great day everyone!!!!

Monday Morning Madness

Good Morning to all. I hope everyone had a great weekend.

I saw a news documentary Sunday morning that mentioned some homeless shelters in Los Angeles that now have hair salons, libraries, and gyms. I think I am ok with the hair salon and the library, I think all crack ho's should be well groomed and literate, but gyms? I think if you are pushing around a huge loaded shopping cart all day with everything you own, you really don't need a leg press machine or a Stairmaster to get you in shape. Just a thought.....

I have always hated Sunday Nights. I remember being a kid and having the whole anxious Sunday Night feeling that the weekend was over and that another school week was upon us. Don't get me wrong, I was good in school and didn't mind it, it was just the feeling that the weekend was over that sucked. Even now as an adult, Sunday Nights suck. A start of another long week is just around the corner.

Almost a new week fucko!!!! Posted by Picasa

My parents always watched "60 Minutes" on Sunday Nights when I was growing up. The sound of that stopwatch ticking always gave me anxiety, it was the official sound of Sunday Night. To this day, I can't watch 60 Minutes or even pass CBS on Sunday Nights, Yeah, I know there is medication for this.......

I read somewhere that Dick Cheney's lesbian daughter got a million dollar book deal. She was talked about a lot in last year's Presidential election when the whole gay marriage debate was in full effect. I don't get this, a book deal? She got a million dollars for her "memoirs." What could her book really be about?

Chapter One:

My Dad is Vice President of the United States.

Chapter Two:

I like pussy

THE END

Have a great day everyone! By the way, "Bored at the Beach" has hit another milestone...100,000 hits! Thanks so much for your continued support!

C-Mac's Friday Video

We made it through another week, by Monday, November will be just about half over if you can believe that. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Lately, I've been posting a video on Friday to take us into the weekend. Today is no exception. Puff Daddy, Puffy, P Diddy, Diddy, whatever you call him, the man has talent. This tune always brings back memories and makes me think of people I have not seen in a while or people I miss. This song for me, makes me realize never to take anyone you care about for granted, because one day they may be gone. Enjoy it and I hope it takes you into the weekend with some thoughts of people you are missing......it's somewhat appropriate for this Veteran's Day as well.

I've always said that the toughest thing in life is when two people love each other and can't be together for some reason or another. This song really showcases that. Definitely one of my all time favorite MTV Video Music Awards moments, back in 1997 when Diddy performed this with Sting. Gives me chills everytime I see the tape.

10 Drunken Memories

I was thinking to myself earlier, damn, I haven't been drunk in months. I suppose the drunk dial back in June made me go cold turkey from alcohol. What a disgrace I am to my heritage, an Irish guy (half anyway)that has not had a drink in months. I was thinking of stupid shit I've done while drunk. I may have shared these with some of you in the past, but what the heck, they are pretty comical:

10)The standard calling of the ex-girlfriend or ex-booty call. You always regret these calls the next day and for weeks to come. I have a policy now, if you don't speak to someone for two months after you have dated/hooked up, their number comes out of the phone to avoid these late night follies. God only knows what you actually said on these calls.

9)Passing out on the floor of a Bennigan's (restaurant) bathroom on my 25th birthday. Not the nicest place to rest your weary head. A bottle of Absolute after two 40oz beers will do that to you. A night I'd like to forget. Lucky I did not spend it in a hospital, but awful close.

8)Told my girlfriend's (at the time) indentical twin sister that I couldn't wait to have sex with her later that night and grabbed her ass. I thought it was my girlfriend, not her sister..there were no hard feelings, thankfully. She may have even liked it. I am suddenly getting the urge for some Doublemint Gum.

7)Invited a bunch of thugs into my house for Alize and Henessey that were passing through the neighborhood. Glad I wasn't robbed later in the week!

6)Rode bikes with my friend Melissa to and up on the boardwalk when both of us were too drunk to even stand. Not a smart idea. I think she may still have a scar on her knee from this. Thank God we were not pulled over for BWI!

Like a drunken sailor indeed...... Posted by Picasa

5)Climbed off my deck and onto the roof, which is very steep and narrow to dance to the Humpty Dance at last years (2004) birthday (C-Macapalooza II)party. I was the hit of the 'hood for sure the next day.

4)Played beer pong with Hennessey. I don't recommend this! :(

3) Indoor Hockey. We poured white baby powder all over the hardwood floors of my last house so me and my friends could skate in socks and play hockey in the house in winter. Many injuries that night. It took weeks to get all that powder up. I think Melissa may still have a scar from this one also. It was more slippery than ice could ever be.

2)Chicken bowling. We had a long hall in my last house. We took empty beer bottles and put them at the end of the hall as pins. We then took a frozen whole chicken out of the freezer and played bowling. Quite fun. Never did eat that poor chicken.

1) The oven mitt. Ok, so it's 3am at C-Macapalooza I (2003) and we are all shitfaced. We are all in my backyard being VERY loud. One of the neighbors must have called the police. I was dancing/moonwalking to Billie Jean by Michael Jackson, using an oven mitt as the "glove" to do the moves and grab my crotch. Just as I did the spin move and turned around, 2 cops were standing there laughing their asses off. Needless to say, they stayed a bit, had some food and chilled, they wanted to see what other moves we had up our sleeves.

Drunken stories rock...I want to hear yours!

The Best Candidates Money Can Buy

Well, election day is over. I am glad. As you all know, I live in NY. Here in the NY Metro area the TV stations cover and report news in NY, NJ, and CT....also known as the tri-state area. For about 3 months, every other commercial on TV was a political ad for the two NEW JERSEY Governor candidates John Corzine and Doug Forrester. This has been described as one of the dirtiest political races in history, and boy is that an understatement.

Forrester (R) and Corzine (D)...2 dirty fuckos Posted by Picasa

We've had to sit through ads like ones featuring an ex wife of Corzine bitching him out, accusations that Doug Forrester pocketed Pharmaceutical rebates, accusations of connections to mob bosses, gangsters, shady dealings, you name it. It was enough to make anyone sick. After hundreds of commercials, I couldn't tell you what either one stood for because all they did was attack one another. The sad part is, both these dudes are already millionaires. They spent over $100 million combined of their own money for a job that pays about $150,000 a year. Just goes to show how power corrupts.

Speaking of money and power.

NYC Mayor Bloomberg, the best Mayor money can buy......... Posted by Picasa

Mike Bloomberg is worth BILLIONS, yet he feels he has to be Mayor of NYC. Granted, the guy (Ferrer) who ran against him was a douche nozzle, and deserved to lose, but it makes me wonder why Bloomberg feels the need to be Mayor. Again, the quest for power, as if money isn't enough.

We wonder why only 48% (on average) of eligible voters in America actually vote. It's because of crap like this. We rank 125th in the world in voter turnout, 125th. The country that patrols the world and sets "the example" for democracy. Pretty sad huh? I have voted in every major and minor election since 1992. I find myself voting for the lesser of two evils more often than I find myself voting for a candidate I am passionate about and one who will look out for us.

It is apparent that we need a STRONG 3rd party in this country. A party that represents our interests, a party that goes to bat for the average American that gets up each day and busts their ass to pay the bills. Right now, the Republicans are corrupt dictators and the Democrats are weak, spineless, and have no agenda whatsoever. Some choice huh?

Modern Day Pirates

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone had a good Monday if there is such a thing.....

Did anyone see the story on the news about the cruise ship that was attacked by pirates? It sounds pretty funny but it is true.

Walk the Plank Fucko!!!!! Posted by Picasa

The modern day pirates tote machine guns and rocket propelled grenades rather than swords and hooks. The attack happened at about 5:30am aboard the Seabourn Cruise Ship 'Spirit' off the coast of Africa. Imagine partying all night on the ship to be awoken by a pirate attack at 5:30am? I'd be pissed. You're all fucked up from 12 straight hours of drinking the day/night before, not to mention the onboard karaoke contest, and the Electric Slide and your ass is awoken by douche bags firing machine guns at you. Guess the pirates wanted the ho ho hoes and the bottles of rum on board.

The boat was carrying 150 passengers and 160 crew members, isn't that ratio a little wacky? One plus crew member for every passenger? The "pirates" never made in on board the cruise ship, they were in two small 25' boats with four pirates on each boat circling the cruise ship. I guess the throwing of the pineapples and bottles of Bacardi scared off the pirates. I don't know about you, but if I was the captain of the cruise ship with a boat that size, I'd be running those fuckos over in those little boats.

I guess cruise ships will now have to have missiles and rocket launchers on them. What is this world coming to? You can't even float around the ocean getting drunk and laid anymore without fear of an attack.

It's Election Day, get your asses out and VOTE!!!!! Even if it's just local stuff in your area, the local stuff plays more of a role in your day to day life than anything, VOTE!!!!!!!!

November 8th.......wondering what could have been.

Walls of "Fame" and Other Monday Tidbits

Good Morning everyone! Don't know about you, but I am still in denial that summer is over and that Thanksgiving is approaching in a few weeks. 2005 is quickly drawing to a close....amazing.

Anyway, what's the deal with "walls of fame" in restaurants and pizza places? You know what I am talking about, the autographed pictures of celebrities that have eaten at that particular establishment. Who gives a shit that Ralph Macchio had a slice of pizza there in 1984 after he filmed the 'Karate Kid?' I certainly don't, it's not going to make me order an extra slice.

Is Ralph Working Today???? Posted by Picasa

Most of the 'celebrities' on those walls are has-beens and many of them may in fact be cooking in the back or washing dishes. It's been so long since many of the people in those pictures have had a hit song or a hit movie. These pictures just don't impress me all that much. A 25 year old signed picture of Pat Benatar hanging in a deli doesn't get me excited.

Has anyone bought batteries lately? Can they make the plastic any thicker and the pack any harder to open? What's going to happen to the batteries that they need such protective wrapping? Then you have delicate light bulbs that are wrapped in cardboard as thin as deli ham, with openings on each side. Makes no sense to me at all.

The NYC Marathon was held yesterday. I look forward to watching it every year. It's a day that brings the city together and there are so many personal stories from the runners that make the day so special. I saw stories yesterday of people with terminal cancer running the race, people who have overcome so many obstacles, I even saw a runner stop at the 18 mile marker, drop to his knee and propose marriage to his girlfriend. It was a great day. As most of you know, I am a runner. I plan on running in the NYC marathon, if I decide to stay in NY, in the next 3-5 years. It's been something I have thought about for the past few years. The most I have ever run in one shot at this point is 12 miles which isn't even half of a marathon and it amazes me to see so many people complete the race. I am sure with the proper training I could finish it without much of a problem in maybe 4.5 hours or so. The winners each year run it in half that time which is just hard to believe. It's amazing to watch. Running is as much a mental sport as it is a physical sport and you really have to get in a "zone" to run long distances like that. For those of you who run, or have run over the years, you know what I mean. Yesterday's marathon was decided by less than a second for the men. 26.2 miles and the race was decided by that slim of a margin, incredible. If you are ever in NYC the first Sunday in November, be sure to check out the race, it's a great experience for the runners as well as for the spectators.

I hope everyone's week starts off on a great note!

Thursday's Points to Ponder

Thursday is upon us. I must say, this week has flown by, for me anyway.

We've all heard the expression "A dog is a man's best friend." I hate cheesy cliches like that, but that one is so true. As you all know I got Bruce in April. I've posted his picture and many stories about him over the past 6+ months. He's been nothing but a joy in my life. Some of you might be thinking why is this dude getting all sentimental over a dog? Let me just say this, unlike people, a dog does not let you down. Sure Bruce has had his "bad" moments over the last 6+ months where he has had an accident in the house or misbehaved a little, but a dog is loyal. For those of you who have pets, you understand. They don't lie to you, they don't pretend to be someone they aren't, they are appreciative, grateful, and dependable. For that, Bruce gets rewarded with many treats, you've seen his Skippy peanut butter picture in the past, here are his Redi-Whip pictures. Bruce sees a can of Redi-Whip and goes crazy, just like I do when I see a good looking girl with a Redi-Whip can.

More C-Mac, Don't be cheap! Posted by Picasa

Hope that made everyone smile a bit. Now on to today's "serious" topic.

Technology is great, don't get me wrong, but there's nothing like hearing someone's voice or seeing someone you care about rather than staring at a screen typing an IM or reading an e-mail. Why is it that a good portion of the population makes a habit of hiding behind computer screens to communicate? I am not talking about the blog friends, the people that live far away, or the casual friend, I am talking about the people who claim to really love or care about you. Is it laziness or do they really not care as much as they claim?

I have someone in my life that claims she cares about me, even claims she loves me. I won't mention names. Yet, for the past three weeks or so, I haven't heard much from this person. I got an e-mail explaining to me that she has not called because she does not get a signal (or enough "bars") on her phone in her apartment anymore. I know she does not have a "land" line and that her cell phone is her only phone. I just find it hard to believe that in the course of 3+ weeks, this person has not driven to and from work, to a store, or anywhere else where there were enough "bars" to get a signal and make a call. It shows me where I rank on their importance scale. Granted, I like my e-mail and IM buddies, but I think my relationship with this person is deeper and far beyond e-mails and IM's. But then again, the only time this person ever poured out her feelings to me or told me anything really deep was via e-mail, so maybe my expectations are too high of her. The Sugar V has been telling me for over a year now that I expect everyone to be like me and that my expectations of people are way too high, you know what? He is right once again.

Even in the dating world, what's up with all the texting? Sure for something cute or trivial, texting saves time and long, drawn out conversations, but to make plans or for something substantial, I still believe in hearing someone's voice and having a conversation. It's no wonder why we have so many social misfits walking amongst us, people are so used to hiding behind computer screens and text messages. It's just so impersonal. What's next, Text Sex? People will be too fuckin' lazy to even have phone sex.

The problem with e-mails, texts, and IM's.....no tone of voice, no body language, no expression, just words on a screen that can be taken 10 different ways by the reader. How many times have you typed something that was taken the wrong way by someone because maybe you were being funny or sarcastic or whatever? It creates tension and misunderstandings way too often.

My point, if you care about someone, pick up the phone or make plans to see them, it means a lot more than you will ever know. Although IM, e-mail, and texting is convenient, save those methods for people who are your casual friends. If you care about someone, really care about someone, pick up the phone or stop by and let them know.

"You are only as good as your last outing" is one of my favorite expressions, thanks Kev. How true is that? You can go above and beyond for people for long periods of time, but in many cases you are only as good as your last outing with people. They only remember the last thing you did, not the 1000 things before. It's like when you say or do something they don't necessarily agree with, rather than call you out on it like an adult, debate the issue, resolve it, and move forward with even more respect for each other, they judge and hold a grudge against you and that's it. The million great things you did and demonstrated before that, gets forgotten and your whole being is defined and judged by the one thing that someone did not agree with you on. It's absurd. It's true in the workplace, in relationships, in friendships, everywhere, it is sad.

I will finish this long post by saying, I really do like people. I still look for the good in people and I do whatever I can and beyond for the people I love. But over the years, I've come to realize that people, for the most part, have their own agendas. I've been naive for a long time thinking people have my best interests in mind, most don't. It goes back to what the Sugar V said, and has continued to say over the past year, my expectations of people are way too high. I am hoping he turns out to be wrong in the long run.

L.A. Needs the Saddam Trial

Good morning everyone! The week is just about half over, hang in there!

L.A./California seems boring these days without a high profile court case/trial going on. Now that Peterson is rotting on death row, MJ is back with his boys, OJ has moved to Florida, and Blake is free to dine with his gun, they actually have to report "real news" there. It's enough to make Pat O'Brien from 'Entertainment Tonight' start drinking and making calls again. Saddam Hussein should request his trial be moved to L.A.

Think about it, L.A. is always sunny, there are STUPID people on the jury all the time, and you can show up to court in your pajamas. Not to mention the lawyers in L.A. that put a spin on anything you do to convince these bright folks on the jury that you are innocent.

LA Lawyers Say "If He's From Tikrit, You Must Acquit!!!" Posted by Picasa

I can see Mark Geragos now, defending Saddam, or maybe Shapiro from the OJ trial.

"Ladies and gentleman of the jury, my client Mr. Hussein did not gas the Kurds with chemical weapons. Mr. Hussein loves the Kurds. As a matter of fact, he was dining with the Kurds the night they were gassed. Mr. Hussein forgot his gas canisters in the restaurant where he and the Kurds were dining, when he came back from getting his gas canisters, the Kurds were already dead."

OR

"Ladies and gentleman of the jury, my client, Mr. Hussein was out golfing the night Iraq invaded Kuwait. If he's from Tikrit, you MUST acquit!!!!!!"

Plus in L.A., nobody famous ever does anything wrong, that's what personal assistants are for. Saddam should demand his trial be moved to L.A., plus if he gets a bit homesick and needs a dirty spider hole to go into, he can always call up someone like say, Courtney Love.

Have a great day!!

A "Sixth Sense"

Good Morning everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful and safe Halloween.

I've noticed many shows on TV featuring a good looking chick who can communicate with dead people. "The Ghost Whisperer" and "Medium" are just a couple of them.

Seeing ghosts, what a cock block Posted by Picasa

No matter how hot the woman may be, I am not sure I'd enjoy her having a sixth sense. All I need is to be cock blocked by John Wilkes Booth's ghost when I am ready to bang. My grandmother's spirit trying to contact my girlfriend during sex isn't my idea of a threesome. Everytime I was horny, which is always, the mood would be killed by a ghost. I want to date a girl with a "real" sixth sense, someone who knows when to be quiet during the game. (haha)

I have also noticed these messages on the bottom of the TV screen during a show reminding us what we are watching. Are we that stupid? "You are watching 'LOST' on ABC." No shit asshole, I know I am watching 'LOST' because I am bored to tears!!!

First "Sex and the City" was the big craze for women, now it is "Desperate Housewives." Please don't talk to me about "Desperate Housewives." If I had the slightest interest in other people's sex lives, I'd be a Republican.

Have a great day everyone!
