Display Towels

Good Morning everyone and welcome back from the long holiday weekend! I have SO much stuff to blog about the next few days based on weekend observations and encounters. Ok, let's get right back into the nonsense....

You know what really annoys the hell out of me? Guests/friends that come over my house and use my display towels in the bathroom to dry their hands! Why is it that people can't decipher between display towels and towels put out for drying their hands? You know what I am talking about, the fancy towels you have in the bathroom that are decorative/part of the bathroom decor. I always put a towel or two or three at the sink so people have them to dry their hands, yet people still manage to walk over to the towel bar and dry their hands on my nice display towels! I am all riled up thinking of this again!!! Sugar V, you gotta control that woman of yours! haha

Then there are the decorative "guest" soaps, like the shell shaped ones, or whatever else your bathrrom decor is, why do people use these? I have 4 kinds of liquid soap in my bathroom at the sink, yet people find a way to use these decorative soaps. I just don't get it.

Do these kinds of things happen in your bathroom? I wonder if people snoop through my medicine chest. I should rig it with a bucket of marbles leaning against the inside so when they open it they all come crashing out.

Today's questions to the wonderful readers here at the beach are

Have you ever snooped through someone's medicine chest?
Do people use your display towels and decorative soaps?
Do you use other people's display towels and decorative soaps?

Wacky topic as always on here.........Oh and be sure to visit THE FREAKYVIRGIN and wish her a Happy birthday today!!!

  1. My Girl is the fancy towel destroyer. If she see fancy towels she must make them all wrinkly and dishevled. Especially the ones that have lighthouse "themes." On a side note I did a lil personal grooming in your bathroom with your razor.....

  2. I'm glad you mentioned about the hand towels in people's bathrooms. Some people don't have them! So I wipe on their robes.

  3. That's why I don't have a "fancy towel display" in my bathroom. My mom was insane about us touching hers that I've now got a phobia about it. Even when I go to people's homes and they don't have regular towels I'll wipe my hands on my pants rather than touch their fancy ones. LOL.

  4. I will admit I have used "decorative towels" before but it wasn't worth it. I've noticed that when you use them, you don't get your hands completely dry for some reason. It's like they have this film or protective coat on it. Almost like they were purposly made not to be used. Wierd.

  5. Consider yourself lucky CMac that people actually wash their hands before running through your stuff in your medicine cabinet!!

  7. Yes I've snooped (I hate that it's really easy for me to do too); don't ever use the decorative towels or soap unless there isn't any soap and then, sorry, it's getting used 'cause I can't think of anything more disgusting than not washing up after. Don't have fancy towels or soaps myself, I have to be efficient because my little house w/it's two small bathrooms don't allow for anything fancy. It's a good life. Good blogs from you from this weekend - you seemed kinda melancholy on a couple of them. It's funny to me to see you so random and funny, and then so serious. You give us a good mix.

  8. Hey A! Good to hear from you today. I was ok over the weekend, sometimes a holiday makes me a bit reflective. Thanks for the kind words as always. I try to keep things silly and light, occasionally you'll get something serious or something of substance! :)

  11. Yeah I second the no having decorative towels for people to use...I am all about functionality. as to the decorative soaps sometimes I DO use them as regular soap if I really like how they smell, but I don't leave out soap choices...it is either a pump bottle or soap in the soap dish...no options...it's all about one or the other

  12. Yes I have done all of this. But I can't help myself the decorative towels and soap looks so pretty. I must touch!
The snooping I don't do. I don't want to know what sort of foot problems friends or family may have. Yuck!

  13. I don't do the decorative soaps either so it's the pump or nothing. As for the decorative towels I too leave one on the sink for hand drying. I haven't run inot too much of a problem with that. 4 soap pumps? May I be so rude as to ask why do you give people a choice? How does one know the difference? Are they marked? This one if you did #1,this one if you did #2(I won't get into the others)
I am not a snooper because I know of the marbles in the medicine cabinet trick. Besides what could possibly be that interesting when you've already seen it all?

  14. Oh but I think I would like to snoop in yours!

  17. why do people associate clean/decorative things with being gay? Why can't a guy be into nice stuff and keeping a clean house?

  19. No, don't snoop. Now I'm going to be paranoid about people snooping in MY bathroom, however.

Too cheap to buy towels and/or soap for "show"! What's up with that?? Screw that...if the stuff I use isn't good enough for my guests, then they are way too uppity for my taste anyway!!

  20. I NEVER use the display soaps or towels!!! All the homes in family have these, and it's common knowledge that you DON'T use them. Just like you don't sit on a bed with a nice comforter, quilt, or duvet so as not to break any seams.

    Some people, man! :)

  31. Hello C-Mac, happened upon your blog via the Top Blog rater, and thought I would chime in on all the happenings of the day...

1~I've snooped once or twice, although it was not without trying to hold restraint. Of course, I am also the same person who can not eat just one Lays potato chip.

2~I do not have any of said decorative bathroom amenities, not due to my sexual orientation (as eluded to on this site today) but for reasons stated in numeral 3...

3~I have used decorative towels, when they were the only thing available. However, I do try to avoid them like the plague, as I agree w/ Glam Girl in the thinking that they don't work for sh*t

    Till next time...

  38. I don't have any fancy towels. I do have extra soft ones, but I hide them when people come over because, well, I paid for them, fuck em. No one uses my soaps or vice versa, I do occasionally look in people's medicine cabinets :)

PS: Damn Charlie - you're cute!

  41. I haven't read the comments yet, but you're the first guy who I think has ever expressed distaste about someone using his decorative towels & soaps who, well, isn't, y'know..... ;)

  43. The decorative towels & soaps, I use the alternative if NOT vice versa. I admit checked out a few men's cabinets, but after what I saw from rogaine to itching meds, got turned off, no more snooping! Don't want to know!
